Laurant Attal, who has been president and chief executive officer of L’Oreal USA for the past four years, has been named executive vice president and managing director of research and innovation in Paris. He will succeed Jean-Francois Grollier, who will retire at the end of this year.

Mr. Attal will be replaced at the helm of the North American operation on July 1 by Frederic Roze, who directs L’Oreal’s Consumer Products Division for Europe.
